LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) — Lubbock police have arrested a man who they say forced his girlfriend into prostitution at their apartment when she was eight months pregnant. The Lubbock Avalance-Journal reports ( ) police charged 44-year-old Smitty Lyons last week with a first-degree felony charge of continuous human trafficking and a misdemeanor charge of promoting prostitution.

Texas fugitive arrested with 50 pounds of pot
The Willits police noticed a burned out tail light on a car driven by a Texas man on Jan. 24. The driver, Trevor Ringo Smith, of Lubbock, Texas, had a fugitive warrant from Randall County, Texas. Lubbock man gets 20 years for his part in homicide
